[UNTITLED]: An AMERICAN FAMILY STORY OF BIRTH, DEATH, AND REPRODUCTIVE CONTROL
I am at work on a book that expands the story of my grandmother’s 1944 death by self-induced abortion into a 400-year history of reproductive healthcare in America. Using my family’s line of mothers as the book’s central narrative, I illustrate how Americans across communities have managed fertility, birth, and birth control for centuries. The book is forthcoming from Knopf next year.
